Dear Lord Burns,
Re: Enquiry into hunting with dogs
Cordings was established in 1839 and we have been trading from our current premises in Piccadilly since 1890. We are suppliers of traditional British country clothing and take pride in sourcing all our clothing and accessories from within the U.K.
A considerable part of our business is with overseas visitors - at times even over 50%. They are coming to us for authentic hunting, shooting and fishing gear.
We know that a ban on hunting would be detrimental to our business and have a knock-on effect for our suppliers. I am sure that there are many other retailers up and down the country in a similar position and I would like you to consider the economic impact of a ban on businesses such as ours.
Thanking you in advance for your consideration.
Yours faithfully,
CORDINGS LIMITED
